Day 5: Whoa, whoa...Livin' in a Vase...

I did a water change last night (so... many... water... changes!). I've been using a glass vase for the waste water, since I'm not dealing with a lot of water volume and it's a nice size. It was late last night, so the vase (with the waste water) just sat on the table overnight.
And then this morning (Day 5) I came into the fish room and went to dump the water that had been sitting in the vase all night, and, well, you guessed it, there was a fry in there, just swimming around. Honestly, he looked pretty good. He seemed happy. But he isn't going to make it to metamorphosis in a VASE, for crying out loud, so back into the tank with him.
All this makes me think that maybe these clownfish fry are not quite as delicate as one might think. I mean yes, sure, they are very VERY small fish, and obviously a lot of them die (ref. Day 2), and it's important to keep their water and other conditions as good as possible to minimize losses. But...this fry sat in a vase for the last 12 hours. No aeration, no heater, nothing. And he seems fine.
I'm going to maybe ease up a bit on the water changes and not stress quite so much about keeping pristine water conditions, and cut myself a break.
Current count: 6. Maybe 8? Maybe 7. They seem to keep phasing in and out of existence.
